Philosophy

The Patchin Playhouse, LLC believes in providing a safe, educational, fun, and nurturing environment for kids to learn and grow!

Choosing a childcare provider is a huge decision and Jennifer does not take that responsibility and trust lightly. Jennifer strives to provide a positive and calm approach to interactions with little ones.  It is important for kids to feel wanted and loved.  At The Patchin Playhouse, kids will be welcomed with open-arms each day.  Jennifer will provide opportunities for them to learn, reach goals, and have fun.

Parents are their children's first teachers, but it takes a village, right? Parents and childcare providers need to work together.  The Patchin Playhouse will remain a small in-home day care.  Therefore each day Jennifer can work one-on-one with each child on individual goals.  Your child will leave each day with a Daily Report on how the day went.  Because of its size, The Patchin Playhouse can also tailor your kid's day to the schedule that works for your family.  You tell Jennifer when you want your child to eat and nap and she'll make it happen!  For this to work best for your child, two-way communication is key.

Who is Jennifer Patchin?

Jennifer is an elementary education teacher turned stay-at-home mom who decided to open an in-home day care center.  After 11 years of teaching 1st grade in Fort Zumwalt School District, Jennifer had a beautiful baby boy.  Wanting to stay home with Drew, she left Fort Zumwalt to begin a new adventure.  Months later Jennifer decided she missed working with kids and wanting to be able to combine being a stay-at-home mom with childcare.  Thus, The Patchin Playhouse, LLC was born!

Jennifer has a bachelor's degree from Bradley University '01 in Elementary Education.  Her master's degree is from Lindenwood University '04 in Gifted Education.  Because she has always loved kids, Jennifer has done a lot of babysitting including overnight care while parents went on vacations.

Child Safety:  Providing a safe environment for children is The Patchin Playhouse's Number 1 priority.  Jennifer is certified with American Red Cross in First Aid and CPR certifications.  Jennifer also takes cleanliness seriously.  She washes her hands before handling food, after changing diapers, as well as countless other times daily.  Jennifer launders and wipes down all toys at least once a week in order to keep everyone as healthy as possible.  Gates and other childproofing measures are in place in the facility.  The Patchin Playhouse also only accepts children who are up to date on all recommended vaccinations.  Parents have to sign their children in and out each day.
